Most folks who have hung out with me enough to see my Z in the last couple years most likely are aware of my Z pride, it is more then a ride from here to there but a hobby or even a member of the family.
Well on Friday someone munched my driver side back end ..... and today I went in for appraisal, now it sounds like they want to blue book me to death ..... basicly this means by no fault of mine 6000$ of damage could have been done to my Z but they might only give me 4000$ ..... And this is fair how ?
*sigh* the world we live in, at least no one was hurt and the other driver did the right thing and didn't just take off. now I just have to sit here and await what the insurance company thinks my Z is worth, I wish they would come down and talk to the members of the Classic Z club !!!!!!!!!!

Mark was a good man, respectable leader, and a professional role model. He will be missed by me and many others.
Not to lighten the seriousness of the true events that have transpired, but I am glad he got to go out like a rockstar doing one of the many things he enjoyed !
I have lost many close to me, but it still doest prepare you for loosing a college. I morn, yet in a professional way ..... but it doesn't stop the feelings that hurt, knowing that we will never get to laugh or joke again nor say goodnight at the end of the day after a job well done.
Farewell friend you will not be forgotten

WOW,
I won an auction for a Dual G4 500mhz Tower !
only 153.00$ on E-bay. I knew they where quickly becoming "dated" and all but I can think of a ton of uses for a Dual proc g4 ! (The Mac I drooled over years ago)
I wonder what life will be like in the computer world when I can finally get that Dual proc G5 I always wanted for 153$ (right before the Mac switched to the Intel chip set)
Quantum Procs ?

Bottom line... I am looking forward to getting this bad boy in the mail so I can get my 153.00$ worth !

I don't normally post political diatribe, but this particular subject has me a bit "miffed".
Not only has the following "regulation" Tripled my work load this month it also implicates me as part of the problem that has no easy "solution"
So my interpretation is as follows:
The Government says,
That *ALL* service based internet providers (ISPs and such) have to implement methods for the US government (FBI CIA NSA) to "wiretap" any internet customer at any given time in a manner undetectable by the "suspect" being monitored. (within 48 hours or some cases ONLY 2 !)
I will be fair and say at least it requires a court ordered subpoena but still, the groundwork for potential and more notorious "Anti Terrorism" uses ect. are being created.
Now this Spiel I lay out before you isn't to start a debate about the need of "monitoring" for public safety/anti terrorism nor do I wish my "Patriotism" be questioned due to my dislike of the so called "patriot act".
But rather to present these 2 simple facts.
1) It is quite expensive and time consuming for many ISPs to prepare for this, some smaller ISPs are likely to either A: close their doors because they lack the capitol needed to implement these government mandated network modifications B: not implement the required modifications and fold under the 10k a day fines from the government.
2) Even if the "wiretapping" methods are correctly in place (to the government’s outlined standards) nothing stops the "suspect" from making a secure encrypted connection from their computer to the computer they wish to communicate with.
So basically the FBI CIA NSA would be Listening to "unreadable data" that would take forever and a day to decipher especially if a 448-bit blowfish key was used.
So what is the point of potentially putting the honest mom and pop internet shops out of business when truly the "suspect" is still able to elude the "authority" in the first place ?
(I would think that someone actively trying to avoid "wiretapping" on a land line would take precautions in the form of encryption on their data lines)
We have all heard of Mob Lawyers and Mob Doctors, but I wonder how much a Mob IT guy makes ?

Advertising on his journal but not talking about life !!!! The nerve !
The company I work for has started their Spring cleaning early this year.
I have been charged with the task of trying to offload
a bunch of Copper/Optic Switches. If you have no Idea what
a Copper/Optic switch is then you probably don't have need of one.
Although some of you may look at this stuff and be like WTF
am I suppose to do with that, others will look and say WTF
he is nuts to sell that stuff so cheap !
I plan to post to E-Bay on Monday for a week long Auction
but I wanted to give my pals in the tech industry the first
peek at what is going on the auction block.
So with out further delay the I present:
The List

| Warplanes of WW2 |
[03 Jul 2006|01:10am] |
I managed to get plenty of sun parked under the airport runway in Roseburg. The weather this weekend was wonderful even if it is getting a bit hot.

With a stocked cooler and the T-tops off I sat on the roof of my Z. I had the luck to hear some interesting stories from local veterans and the awe inspiring sound of the Allison and Merlin engines as they passed just a couple hundred feet above my head.
The Mustang has always been one of my favorite war planes, having the chance to watch them take off then preform maneuvers was quite enjoyable and fullfilled a childhood wish.
I hope I get a chance to see next years air show too.

| Evil Speak |
[31 Oct 2005|07:59am] |
Data incomplete... Human blood required. Thus spake the computer.
|
I picked this movie up used for only 1$ and well for a dollar it was worth all 100 pennies ! At first the 80's style computer graphics caught my eye, then I read the back ...... This movie is perfect for the geek minded horror movie watcher. (it is Halloween after all) Complete with Evil incantations, human eating hogs, and a classic death in the shower scene !
